Support for Dr. Polevoy by Peter Bowditch

Peter Bowditch has been a victim of vicious threats against himself and his family over the years. Here is Peter's e-mail that he sent to Bluehost.com's legal staff in support of Dr. Polevoy.

I have been informed that following a complaint from Mr William P O'Neill of the Canadian Cancer Research Group you have disabled the web site of Dr Terry Polevoy at http://www.healthwatcher.net/

Before acting on complaints made by Mr O'Neill it might be worthwhile looking at Mr O'Neill's history of complaints and the character of the man himself.

At http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/onews/onews.htm you can see several years' worth of attacks on me and my family by Mr O'Neill. If you care to wade through the bilge you can see several obscene references to my wife and daughters.

At http://www.ratbags.com/rsoles/onews/gal.htm you can see more of the same where Mr O'Neill made anonymous comments. I used to pretend that I didn't know it was him until he commented about the birth of my grandson with the message "kill it quick and kill it good before it multiplies" to a public newsgroup.

(You can see the post at Google Groups)

It's not just Dr Polevoy and I who have a poor opinion of Mr O'Neill. You can see a television show about him at W-FIVE in which he says that he can cure cancer and then denies saying it when presented with the evidence of the statement. Please reinstate Dr Polevoy's web site. If you are going to act on complaints, then at least limit that action to complaints made by people whose opinions might matter.

This email will be published on my web site, The Millenium Project, and I will report your response as soon as I know what it is.

Thank you.-- Peter Bowditch

Bill O'Neill threatens free speech

On May 29, 2009 Bill O'Neill complained to my ISP at BlueHost.com in Utah. He was desperate to silence critics of his Canadian Cancer Research Group in Ottawa. My web site has been covering Bill and all of his shenanigans since August 2000.

I've filed an appeal to BlueHost.com and awaited their decision.

Those of you who want to preserve the freedom of speech are invited to e-mail Shari Dixon of the Legal Department of Bluehost.com.

sdixon@bluehost.com

Tell Ms. Dixon about what Bill has done over the last ten years, and the threats that he has made against me, CTV, the government and others who want to expose him as a menace to the health of Canadians who are suffering from cancer and other horrible illnesses.

Demand that my web site be restored.

http://www.healthwatcher.net/Quackerywatch/CCRG/

When a web site is blocked, all of the URLs that are part of master web site are blocked. This means that all of Dr. Terry Polevoy's web sites, including his own office web site is down. Patients are unable to reach the office to get information.

Bill O'Neill will pay for the interference with my medical practice and my freedom of speech. Lawyers are reviewing the situation and will consider legal actions against Mr. O'Neill and those associated with the complaint.

Please contact Dr. Polevoy with your thoughts and your support.

Thanks,

Terry Polevoy, MD

Footnote: At about 12 noon on June 1, 2009 full service was restored to all of my web sites. No further explanation was given by Bluehost.com.
